Originally built in the 17th century, Hethersett Old Hall was converted into an independent boarding school in the 1930s and, for most of the year, accommodates only school children.
Accommodation at the school is a mixture of single rooms and double/multiple occupancy. Single rooms are at a premium and tend to be allocated quickly, and bathroom facilities are mostly shared.
Part of the charm of the school is the "old world" look and feel of the place, and we make use of the accommodation "as is". Not only does this help us to keep the costs reasonable, it also engenders a community atmosphere during the camp instead of a "hotel" environment.
The school has been the location of the camp since 2008, and as always we are grateful to the HOHS staff for looking after us so well. As many of you will be aware, Michael Reeves retired from his post as Facilities Manager just after last year's camp, and I am pleased to report that he is thoroughly enjoying his retirement. The school now has a new and equally capable Facilities Manager, Chris Wilson, and we look forward to working with him in April.
We can accommodate a range of dietary preferences, but please ensure you indicate this clearly on your booking form, so that suitable plans can be made well in advance of the camp.
