The village is situated in the district of South Norfolk - between Norwich and the Suffolk border, and is a beautiful area steeped in history. Outside the village of Hethersett is Kett's Oak, where Robert Kett gathered his men for a Peasant's Revolt against the authorities in the city. The village has a good community spirit. Hethersett has an excellent choice of shops including a butchers, farm shop, florist, furniture and gift shop, pet shop and picture framing shop. Hethersett church, St Remigius, is a large attractive church built in the 14th century.
